Sidekickcast Episode #7 - Bonapalooza
The Bonapalooza Birthday Spectacular hits the Sidekicks into a drunken frenzy making it pretty difficult to get much comic talk done at all and what there is could be described as the ravings of the town boozehound. All the brothers made it on to this episode with the return of Davlo for his Dig This! review of Batman R.I.P. , the dramatic return of X-centric Ned with an exciting new format and interesting new direction and of course your regular hosts Dan and Gavin.
In Stack Attack we cover X-Factor #37, Secret Invasion #8, New Avengers #47, Cable #9, X-Force #9, X-Men: legacy #218, Marvels: Eye of the Camera #1 and Gigantic #1.
Will the Sidekicks claw some points back in Secrets and Lies or will the Boneman's masterplan to confuse and confounder continue? The Twelve is out and FEAR Agent is in for Knowing Me, Knowing You.
Warning this episode contains an extraordinary amount of spoilers concerning Batman R.I.P. and Secret Invasion, as well as excessive amounts of alcohol so expect extra long out-takes after the outro music.
Sidekickcast Episode #5 - I Say thee Nay!
This week on The Sidekickcast we see the triumphant return of some Sidekicks that have been MIA with the return of X-centric Ned and Alex's final chapter review of The Dark Knight Returns in Dig This!
Stack Attack plays catch up as we now have access to our comic book shop once again so we're able to pick up on the important issues we may have missed over the last month. Reviews include Magneto: Testament #2, 1985 #6, Back to Brooklyn #2, X-Men Legacy #216-217, Uncanny X-Men #503 and we catch up with Ultimatum in the Ultimate Universe.
X-centric Ned fulfills his promise to delve deep into the events that lead to Angel's original fall from grace to become the recently returned Archangel. You may think you know the X-Men but this may shed a whole new light upon them and their motivations.
With The Boneman taking a 1-0 lead last time in Secrets and Lies will the rest of the Sidekicks be able to even the score this week and weed out his carefully crafted falseties. And will the Sidekickcast's tough customer Marshall carry on reading Marvel Comics' The Twelve, find out in Knowing Me, Knowing You.
We'd like to take this opportunity to say that whatever you hear in this podcast we are all very big fans of Mr Kevin Bacon and wish him well, no matter how it may sound.
Sidekickcast Episode #3 - The Clown Shoes Kill Squad
The wait is over, I know you've missed your team of Sidekicks so we're back (we told you we would be). Here we proudly present the often difficult third podcast, Sidekickcast Episode three. Sidekick regulars Gavin (the Boneman), Dan (Marshalllaw) and Ned (urgh...Ned) are joined at the Watchtower by Alex (Sidekickcast composer), and what a team-up it turns out to be.
Without any Marvel comics in our stacks this week how will the sidekicks manage? and just why are there no comics? Reviewed in Stack Attack this week are War Heroes #1-2, Justice League of America #25, Secret Six #1 and Fringe #1. All this is followed by a continuing in depth analysis of the Purifiers and X-Force #1-6 (Angels and Demons) with X-centric Ned.
Knowing Me, Knowing You comes to a head and there could be blood spilled! Nuff Said! And we're confronted by a modern classic in the form of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns in our 'everyman' comic pimping Dig This!
And finally find out how far the Care Bears have fallen since the cancelling of their tv show, make sure you keep listening past the outro music for some hilarious out-takes. Parental Advisory, here be porn talk.
