Sidekickcast Episode #31 - Pink it's Not Even a Question

Flying solo for the first time in a while, well actually there's two of them but you get the idea, Sidekickcast hosts Dan (Marshall Law) and Gavin (The Boneman) are bringing it back for the little man. We wander down TV memory lane with some Firefly chat which evolves into Dollhouse dissection and somehow make our way over to Reservoir Turtles.
In our comic book review segment; Stack Attack we take a look at Flash Reborn #5, Wolverine: Weapon-X #7, Blackest Night #5, Chronicles of Wormwood: The Last Battle #2, SWORD #1, X-Force #21, Daredevil #502, Supergod #1 and Batman and Robin #6.
It's all down to Dan in Secrets and Lies the comic book news quiz, how will he fair with nobody to watch his back? We experiment with some alternative uses for comic books with varying degrees of success, have you got any ideas for this dodgy new feature? Gavin ambushes Dan in Knowing Me, Knowing You with Punisher MAX #1 in the hope of bringing him over to dark side of Marvel Comics. Dig That! becomes another example of Staurt Tipples' attmepts to frazzle the Sidekicks minds with obscure and mind bending comics, this week it's Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean's Signal to Noise. We fade to black with our favourite colour and some proper stupid outtakes.

Sidekickcast Episode #30 - It Ain't the Filth!

A little bit late this week due to all the Sidekicks being gainfully employed and lazy as all hell, Gavin and Dan are joined by Sidekickcast regular Mikey Bumchin for what's sure to be an X-Tastic episode. We start the show by taking a look at the Kick Ass movie and all the Halo media that's floating about at the moment especially the HellJumpers comic book by Peter David.
In a packed Stack Attack we bring back the 2 minute Wonder where Gavin tries to review as many comics as he can in 2 minutes, in his hung over state will he manage more than 3? We also take a look at Blackest Night #4, X-Necrosha, Psylocke #1,Black Widow: Deadly Origin #1, Last Resort #3, X-Force #20, Superman: Secret Origin #2, Haunt #2, Punisher #10, Wolverine: Weapon-X #5, Life Undead, Cowboy Ninja Viking #1 and X-Factor #50.
Can the dream team of Mikey Bumchin and Dan add to Gavin's downfall in Secrets and Lies; the comic book news quiz that tries to pull the wool over your eyes. The Torch #3 is the last hope in trying to get Dan to read something he wouldn't usually in Knowing Me, Knowing You. In a rare Dig That! we have the man that gave us Planet Hulk in the house to gage our reactions to the 2006 Marvel event. Don't forget to listen past the outro music for some ridiculous out-takes.

Sidekickcast Episode #29 - 'You had me at Yo!'

Lil Fat Mikey makes another return to the Danger Room to show Sidekickcast hosts Dan (Marshall Law) and Gavin (the Boneman) just how much he's fallen down the comic book rabbit hole. We take a look at some comic book animation in the form of Ghost in the Shell, Battle Angel Alita and Iron Man: Armored Adventures.
In the Stack Attack reviews we cover Batman and Robin #5, Daredevil #501, Uncanny X-Men #516, Haunt #1, Chronicles of Wormwood: The Last Battle #1, Invincible Iron Man #19, North 40 #3 and Crossed #7.
It's time to crap or get off the pot in Secrets and Lies; the comic book news quiz with Gavin so far in the lead with a score of 9-5. Can all the revision Lil Fat Mikey has done this week bring Dan back from the brink? In Knowing Me, Knowing You, Dan has Mike Carey's The Torch #2 to contend with, can we convince to pick it up for another week? We get a Dig That! recommendation from our favourite comic book dealer Kristian AKA the Comic Guru in the form of Salem Brownstone: All Along the Watchtowers. Don't forget to listen past the outro music for some ridiculously funny out-takes.

Sidekickcast Episode #28 - BICS and Bobs

The Welsh Coast Avengers take over the podcast once again so we hear from X-Centric Ned and Davlo aswell as your usual hosts Gavin (The Boneman) and Dan (Marshall Law). That's not all though, we also get a special BICS 2009 report from past Sidekickcast guests Crazy Boatman and Lil' Fat Mikey, the Sidekicks are amongst us and doing good works across the lands.
Stack Attack is pretty much Dan's domain this week as Gavin is still suffering from a mixture of post-con blues and exhaustion. We cover Batman and Robin #4, Red Robin #3, Olympus #3, 28 Days Later #2, Thor #603, Wolverine: Weapon-X #5 and X-Men: Legacy Annual #1.
Secrets and Lies the comic book news quiz reaches new highs (or lows dependant on you point of view) as an undecided team go back and forth over their choice over and over and over....
We get DCU animation fan X-Centric Ned's views on the latest offering; Superman/Batman: Public Enemies. We've also got some added extras this week in the form of a Tipple Too Much recorded live from the bar at BICS 2009 and please don't forget to keep listening for some booze enduced out-takes.

Sidekickcast Episode #27 - Vicious Evil Network Of Mayhem

It's the night before BICS 2009 (British International Comics Show) and I want to be all bright eyed and bushy tailed so I'll make this brief. District 9, Nicholas Cage as Superman and IMAX Watchmen fill regular Sidekick hosts Gavin (the Boneman) and Dan's (Marshall Law) intro to the show.
Stack Attack hits Giant Size Wolverine: Old Man Logan, Invincible Iron Man #18, Superman: Seceret Origin #1, Blackest Night #3 and Buck Rogers #4.
Secrets and Lies the comic book news quiz with a twist takes a trully traumatic turn for for one of our Sidekicks. New Marvel title The Torch #1 get's the Knowing Me, Knowing You treatment from Dan, will it make the grade?
We kick it old school for Dig That! all the way back to '93 with Vertigo book Enigma from Peter Milligan and Duncan Fegeredo. Don't forget to listen past the outro music for some out-takes just so you don't think we're too perfect.

Sidekickcast Episode #26 - One Year Later (A Tale of Two Mikeys)

Happy 1st Birthday Sidekickcast, can't believe it's been a year already? Neither can we, especially when some special friends send their congratulations. And how do your hosts Gavin (The Boneman) and Dan (Marshall Law) celebrate? The only way we know how with a truck load of comics, some beer and the company of two of our favourite Sidekicks Mikey Bumchin and Lil' Fat Mikey.
We could not have packed more into this week's review-a-thon Stack Attack if we tried and believe me, we tried. We hit: 28 Days Later #1, Flash: Rebirth #4, X-Force #18, Cable #18, Starnge Tales #1, North 40 #2, The Last Resort #2 and Batman: Streets of Gotham #1-3.
In a special UK edition of Secrets and Lies; our comic book news quiz Dan leads a full frontal assault armed to the teeth with comic geekery in an attempt to catch up to the evil quizmaster. We end the show by closing up the recent spate of Elseworld titles and The Losers vol.2 in Knowing Me, Knowing You and catch up on the comic book fortunes of our welcome guests. Out-takes a plenty after the outro music and thanks for listening, one year in the making.

Sidekickcast Episode #25 - The Welsh Coast Avengers

The World's (or at least Wales') Mightiest Heroes assemble for the 25th episode spectacular of Sidekickcast. The Sidekick role call includes regular hosts Dan (Marshall Law) and Gavin (The Boneman), Davlo graces us with his brain power and an X-Centric character from the old days makes a dramatic return. Did you make it to Avatar day? No? Well the Sidekicks have got you covered with their preview of the exclusive Avatar footage presented by James Cameron.
In Stack Attack this week The Sidekickcs review Batgirl #1, Daredevil #500, Viking #3, Poe #2, Cable #17 and Superman #688. Chris Claremont's X-Men: Forever #1-5 get's the X-Centric treatment, will it live up to past glories?
Dan assembles a crack team of comic book knowledge in our pub quiz-esque comic book news game Secrets and Lies. In Knowing Me, Knowing You, Dan tackles the sequel to last episode's choice; Superman: The Stand on Krypton whilst Gavin supposedly takes a look at The Losers vol.2. We end the show on a high brow note with The Arrival this week's Dig That! choice from comic book artist Stuart Tipples and the usual out-takes play out after the outro music.

Sidekickcast Episode #24 - Second Time's a Charm

Almost the podcast that never was, the Sidekicks Gavin (the Boneman) and Dan (Marshall Law) strike back against Loki the God of Techno-mischief by recording this episode not once but twice. You know what they say 'Second Time's a Charm' and Godzilla, Playboy and Wolverine's family tree help prove these are wise words.
In the review-a-thon that is Stack Attack we cover Invincible Iron Man #16, Halo: Helljumper #1, Blackest Night #2, Justic League Cry for Justice #2, Chew #2, Absolution #1 and The Marvel's Project #1.
The comic book news gameshow should be a complete bust this week due to the double recording but it's never that simple with Secrets and Lies. Dan got Superman: Last Son of Earth whilst Gavin got The Losers volume 1 in a pretty kick ass edition of Knowing Me, Knowing You, surely they'll both love each other's choice? I Luv Halloween from TokyoPop get's the Dig That! treament in the Sidekick's efforts to better themselves through their listener's recommendations. Keep on trucking past the outro music to hear the sidekick cock ups and outtakes.

Sidekickcast Episode #23 - Black Lanterns & Silverfish

In the latest episode of Sidekickcast your hosts Gavin (The Boneman) and Dan (Marshall Law) bumble through the headlines from the San Diego Comic Con; that most massive multi media convention from across the pond. They show once again how little they know but how much they love all things comics. This episode sees our best competiton yet so make sure you listen out for the extremely easy question and get emailing in for your chance to have the power in your hands.
In a machinegun style Stack Attack we review X-Force #17, Captain Britain & MI:13 #15, The Last Resort #1, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep #1, Battlefields: Tankies #3 and Ignition City #1-2.
Gavin has a somewhat ridiculous lead in Secrets and Lies; the comic book news roundup quiz so every point counts as Dan tries to claw his way back to the top. Apparently Dan stole Howard Chaykin's Elseworld Batman book Thrillkiller from the Danger Room last episode as he's now taken to self medicating his Marvel Zombiedom in Knowing Me, Knowing You. The Crazy Boatman provides this weeks recommendation for Dig That! in the form of David Lapham's Silverfish from Vertigo. Don't forget to listen past the outro music for some of the usual hijinks and out-takes.

Sidekickcast Episode #22 - Hit and Run

Oh Lordy! Here we go again, Dan (Marshall Law) and Gavin (The Boneman) are on their own this week with 100% no defects for an entirely Marvel free podcast. Gavin tries and fails to convince Dan that Torchwood is worth a watch whilst Dan shares his wild conspiracy theories on the moon landings much to Gavin's disgrace. We also try to stay current with some casting chatter about the geek films in production and coming soon.
In a packed but Marvel free Stack Attack we hit a preview of The Dark #1 from Markosia, Blackest Night #1, Wednesday's Comics #1-2, North 40 #1, Poe #1 and Chew #1.
With the score at 3-1 to Gavin, Dan really can't afford to drop any more points in Secrets and Lies; the comic book news quiz that everyone can play along with at home. Knowing Me, Knowing You makes a triumphant return with Dynamo 5 from Image comics and this week's Dig That! choice is something that has been gaining alot of chatter on the forums recently Red 5's Atomic Robo. Don't forget to listen past the outro music for some fun filled out-takes.
