Fear Itself: Uncanny X-Force #1: First Look

Fear Itself descends upon Wolverine's X-Force in a most Uncanny way, it's Uncanny X-Force vs a group of murderous zealots...so what else is new?! Well, this limited series is brought to you by Sidekick favourite, Rob Williams, he's Welsh and he did our live Secrets and Lies, of course he's our favourite, and on art, Simone Bianchi, who Sidekickcast co-host Dan has been quite rude about in the past but I like his style. Not just that but I think you'll recognise the guy X-Force have got strapped down and look like they'r about to torture, abrother in arms! Any excuse to see a little more of this dynamic and quite frankly kick-ass team, and I'm sold, so bring it on, I can't wait for 6th July and neither should you! Carry onto the next page for the rest of the preview and don't forget, keep 'em peeled Sidekicks.
DC Comics Goes Back to #1! With Day & Date Digital Release

So here's the news, direct for from DC's The Source blog, carry on past the jump for the Sidekick reaction and more:
"This year, change is in the air at DC Comics.
On Wednesday, August 31st, DC Comics will launch a historic renumbering of the entire DC Universe line of comic books with 52 first issues, including the release of JUSTICE LEAGUE by NEW YORK TIMES bestselling writer and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and bestselling artist and DC Comics Co-Publisher Jim Lee. The publication of JUSTICE LEAGUE issue 1 will launch day-and-date digital publishing for all these ongoing titles, making DC Comics the first of the two major American publishers to release all of its superhero comic book titles digitally the same day as in print.
DC Comics will only publish two comic books on August 31st: the final issue of this summer’s comic book mini-series FLASHPOINT and the first issue of JUSTICE LEAGUE by Johns and Lee, two of the most distinguished and popular contemporary comic book creators, who will be collaborating for the first time. Together they will offer a contemporary take on the origin of the comic book industry’s premier superhero team.
In the hours, days and weeks to come, we’ll have more news about the other titles. Tomorrow, we’ll hear from Co-Publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee about this momentous occasion. Keep checking THE SOURCE for updates about the other first issues.
This year, make history with us."
Bristol Comic Expo 2011 - "What to do?"
Link: http://www.fantasyevents.org/bristolcomicexpo/

Although Cardiff is my hometown and we now have our very own comic convention, I have to admit that a substantial part of my heart will always belong to Bristol International Comic Expo. It was the first 'proper' comic convention I ever went to (only crappy comic book markets before Bristol), where The Sidekickcast did our first interview with creators and hosted our first ever panel, not to mention all the friends we've made whilst there. This year we're probably only going to be able to make it for the Saturday (14th May) so I thought I'd give you a quick rundown of the things we'll be going to see, what we think looks good and where you can find us during the day...that one is pretty easy actually, we'll be at the bar.
Daken: Dark Wolverine #9.1 Preview

He's a friend of the Sidekicks for sure, and here, courtesy of Marvel, we've got a sneak peek at Rob Williams's and artist's Ron Garney's Daken: Dark Wolverine #9.1. I've been very much enjoying this ".1" business that Marvel have employed and it has generally worked as advertised. This looks like it'll be another title to add to my stack...
Rob Williams Comments on Fear Itself: Uncanny X-Force

It was announced yesterday that Rob Williams and Simone Bianchi would be the creative team attached to the Fear Itself Uncanny X-Force 3-part mini series released in July. As we are lucky enough to have met Rob due to his appearance on our recent Secrets & Lies panel and we know he's a big fan of Uncanny X-Force we thought we'd ask him for his personal feelings on writing for characters currently being handled so well by Rick Remender. Read Rob's comments just after the jump:
