Call of Juarez: The Cartel Review

Call of Jaurez: The Cartel
Ubisoft: Techland
FPS Released: 22 July 2011
After feeling like Clint Eastwood in the previous installment, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood I was excited when this latest installment in the franchise hit the shelves and went to Blockbusters to give it a try. Did it fire the six shooting smash that the previous version delivered, leaving you friskily looking at the mrs with your best “Hey Blondie“? I gave the game the zonalcrew dissection to see if it was worth our money.

GONZO Blast Special! SOULCALIBUR V Announced!

Stand by Sidekicks... The game announcement I have been waiting ages for has arrived! Soulcalibur V is on its way! Time to brush up on the exquisite art of the samurai sword!
The premiere fighting game, the Soulcalibur series launched with Soul Blade (or Soul Edge in other territories) waaaaay back on the original PlayStation in 1996. The title's unique selling point was the weapons used by the characters to beat the shinola out of each other - made a change from getting bloodied knuckles!
Details are very thin on the ground but, in famous Sidekick fashion, here's a round-up... And the teaser trailer!

Ok news-hounds! Here it is... This week's GONZO Blast! Go here for the rules. The first one of which is to, of course, not talk about GONZO Blast.
A quiter one this week in terms of volume, but there are some pearls in here... Wii 2, more cyber-terror and Michael Jackson's Gameboy.
Many thanks to Kotaku (with some added Game Informer), Nintendo Wolrd Report, Team Xbox, Playstation Universe and Foo Fighters - whilst they didn't contribute any news, they did contribute a great album, Wasting Light, to write this post too. I love you Dave!!

GONZO Blast! Videogame News Round-Ups

Welcome, Sidekicks, to a new feature for the Sidekickcast...
GONZO Blast is a weekly (yeah, sure!) update on big news stories in the world of videogames. The idea is that you come here, read a headline and news snippet and then, when you inevitably something you are interested in, you Google the frak out of that sonovabitch!
The point is that GONZO Blast is just like bumping into your well informed pal who takes a few seconds to tell you a bunch of news - if you're interested, you enquire! If you're not, you smile politely, look at your watch and back slowly towards the door...
Here's how it'll pan out...
