Mark Millar vs The World: London Comic Con KAPOW!
Link: http://www.kapowcomiccon.com/

So today is the day that Mark Millar unveiled the name and website for his London comic con that is supposed to rival San Diego Comic Con (SDCC); Kapow! Comic Con (KCC, not too far from The Colonel’s favourite place to eat or even that famous good ol’ boys club that likes to burn stuff on people’s lawns). Now I’m sure Millar is going to get a lot of heat for this, it’s going to be Mark Millar vs. The World (or internet comic fandom at the very least) mainly due to his overselling of the event, guy knows how to pimp that’s for sure. He himself has made comparisons with SDCC so let’s see exactly what is on offer:
Something Silly Bad-Ass for Sunday #84 - Nemesis in Motion
I was struggling for inspiration for Something Silly this week and then I saw a retweet from @mrmarkmillar linking to this motion comic version of Nemesis. It seems by nature of his retweet Mark Millar approves of what I can only assume is a Nemesis fan film and it's not hard to see why, this rocks!
MillarWorld in Full Technicolour

Get your first look at three awe-inspiring variant covers from superstar artist Leinil Francis Yu, uniting the characters of Kick-Ass, Nemesis, and Superior in one climactic battle scene! When placed together, the Kick Ass 2 #2 Yu Variant, Superior #4 Yu Variant, and Nemesis #4 Yu Variant covers form a showdown between three of Millar’s most celebrated series!
Mark Millar and Tony Scott - This could get messy

The Mark Millar PR Behemoth just keeps on truckin' as he's been tweasing (it's my new twitter/tease phrase) that he's got some big news, no the biggest, most awesome news ever in the world and his Dad can beat up your Dad and he's got a speedboat. So I was waiting around all weekend for it, saw it on Bleeding Cool and then instantly forgot all about it util today. So, basically Tony Scott is set to direct the movie adaptation of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's Nemesis.
The Friday Roundup: Welsh Odin! Marvel iphone! Nemesis!
Got a busy weekend ahead so may not be posting much apart from Something Silly of course, so to tide you over this is what I can gain from what's going on in the world of comics

According to the Hollywood Reporter there's a good chance that the Kenneth Branagh's Thor movie will have a welsh guy playing Thor's father Odin. No it's not me but someone almost as good Sir Anthony Hopkins, if you check out the image above from 1999's Instinct with Cuba Gooding Jr he certainly knows how to rock the long hair and beard combo, all he needs now is is a dodgy eye and a raven on his shoulder and he's away. How reliable this information is this information? Who knows, it was previously believed that Odin would be played by Brian Blessed (although he seems more a shoe in for Volstaag if you ask me) and both Robert De Niro and Jude Law were falsely reported to be in the flick.
Marvel have finally made their way onto the iphone according to Bleeding Cool with the inclusion of some of their titles on the comixology app. Currently you can get hold of Brubaker's run on Captain America, Astonishing X-Men, Marvel Zombies and Age of Apocalypse?! Good news for iphone owning comic book fans but bad news for any comic book company not yet on the iphone...DC...anybody?
And finally over on the Millarworld forums...

The boys are back in town, don't know what it's about but it's certainly given me a stiffy the size of Florida.
