Something Silly Bad-Ass for Sunday #84 - Nemesis in Motion

by Gavin Jones Email

I was struggling for inspiration for Something Silly this week and then I saw a retweet from @mrmarkmillar linking to this motion comic version of Nemesis. It seems by nature of his retweet Mark Millar approves of what I can only assume is a Nemesis fan film and it's not hard to see why, this rocks!

Rise Up Astonishing X-Men! *UPDATED*

by Gavin Jones Email

Link: http://g4tv.com/

I'm sure I've talked here before about the Asonishing X-Men motion comic that debuts on itunes this Wednesday but for the life of me I can't seem to find the story, so just so you know the motion comic version of Gifted; Joss Whedon and John Cassaday's awesome run on Astonishing X-Men is released on itunes this week. Even better news than that there's only going to be a bloody music video to accompany the release. The song is called Rise Up by the band Disciple and the video has been put together by a bunch of people I've never heard of; David Ari Leon, Guy Erez, Bronx Style Bob, Christian Altman and the Marvel Music Group. Supposedly it's debuting tonight on http://g4tv.com/. And here is said music video:

Gotta be honest I'm not loving the actual music track, it has it's moments but it's not my particular brand of vodka, the video however does kick ass. This is how I feel the whole motion comic thing works best, as a backdrop to something else in small snipets and not trying to tell a complete story. I always find myself getting distracted by the little imperfections in the movement or the googley eyes every character has rather than just following the action. Nuff Said.
