Fallen Heroes #1 Review
Link: http://fallenheroescomicdotcom.wordpress.com/

The very first time I met Barry Nugent in person was at Bristol Comic Con two or three years ago (my memory is not what it used to be!), I'd been listening to his podcast Geek Syndicate for a while and I had recently launched The Sidekickcast. We got on really well and as I'd heard that he'd written a book I asked him if he could bring me a copy, that book was Fallen Heroes. I brought my signed copy home and it went straight onto my bedside cabinet ready to be read and to this very day I'm ashamed to say that is where it has stayed. I want to read it, I look at it longingly all the time but since we started the podcast it has been impossible for me to find the time to read anything that isnt a comic and 'for' the podcast. I tell you all this so you can imagine how elated I was to hear that Fallen Heroes was being adapted into a comic book, finally I could read the story with the added bonus of pictures, always good for me.
Not a Venom fan but damn!

I am not a Venom fan, I am not even a Spider-Man fan but damn I may have to pick up both Amazing Spider-Man #654.1 and Venom #1. The reason for this is simple, Rick Remender and Tony Moore are the new creators on Venom, with his introduction in the aforementioned ASM. I mean I would follow Remender into the mists of avalon, the very least I can do is follow him onto Venom.

MCM Expo '10 in 10

So much went on at this weekend's MCM Expo at London Dockland's Excel centre that the only way to sum it up was to make some kind of list. So here are my ten most memorable thoughts/moments/things I learnt from the weekend:
1. Nearly 50,000 people went through the doors of the London MCM Expo this year; a pretty titanic effort by anyone's standards and easily making it the UK's biggest comic con, are you listening Mr Millar.
2. There are cosplayers out there for everything, from Resident Evil to Naruto to Bannanas in Pyjamas. You name it and somebody out there will dress up like it and tredge down to the Excel centre to display their chosen ploomage. Don't believe me? Fellow Sidekick, Ned will be along soon with his rundown of all the cosplay action.
Geek Syndicate – Episode 162 Part 2 with added Sidekick

It's part 2 of Dan's evening with Barry Nugent of the mighty Geek Syndicate. So in Barry's own fair words this is what they got up to:
In this second part Barry is still joined by Dan Marshall from the Sidekickcast Podcast. In this last part they answer some listener questons before descending into a drunken homage to Airwolf.
You have been warned.
Apologies for the lack of an intro!
