That Friday Feeling: Insider Jessica Alba! Last Days of American Crime!
Link: http://www.latinoreview.com/news/jessica-alba-is-attached-to-the-insiders-8657
Bit of a different Friday feeling today as of course it's been Thanksgiving in the States so very little comic book news about. On a personal note I'm looking forward to the 10 girls in my work that are dressing in Original series Star Fleet Uniforms for tonight's Christmas party, expect many photos of me pimping with my hareem of Star Trek lovelies.

No stranger to comic book adaptations with Fantastic Four and Sin City under her slinky belt, Jessica Alba is set to star in the movie adaptation of The Insiders according to Latino Review. I don't know a lot about this book as it's Belgian and my European comic book knowledge sucks but is set to improve (more on that in future blogs). From what I can gather Alba will be playing a James Bondesque Colombian spy working for the U.S. infiltrating a crime syndicate and bringing them down form the inside. The title suggests however there may be more than one insider in this story, you heard it here first, or maybe I'm just reading too much into it? This film will see her reconnect with Sin City director Robert Rodriguez who will be acting as producer with JCVD director Mabrouk el Mechri attached to direct.
More Fear Agent? Hell Yeah!

If you check out CBR anytime soon the first article you should take a look at is their interview with Fear Agent creator Rick Remender. Anyone that's read this blog before, listened to the Sidekickcast (our most excellent podcast) or has bumped into me briefly on the street somewhere will know that my favourite comic book of the moment is Fear Agent. I've already waxed lyrical here about how pissed I am at Marvel for stealing Remender away for the stories in their books meaning he can no longer do work on his independent work, Fear Agent being a big part of that. Well it seems according to the CBR interview I owe Marvel an apology, they were quite happy for Remender to carry on with his work for Dark Horse with Fear Agent but the writer himself felt it was time to bring the series to a conclusion.
However the best piece of news to come out of this interview was that Fear Agent will return! Thanks to the major motion picture adaptation that's in development at Universal Remender will be looking to relaunch Fear Agent to coincide with developments in the production of the movie hopefully introducing a new audience to the character of Heath Huston and sating crazy ass psycho stalker fans like myself. I couldn't be happier about this as far too often independent creators get the 'Big Two' callup and totally forget all about their independent work, don't get me wrong I'm not blaming them as you gotta pay the bills but it's nice to know that Remender isn't done with the character and is going to be giving the fans the payoff they deserve.
The latest issue of Fear Agent #27 is out now and the series will end with issue #32 and the previous five trade paperback volumes can be found in all the usual bookstores and comic book shops, miss it at your peril.
Fear Agent is a science fiction comic book series by Rick Remender with art by Tony Moore and Jerome Opena, who alternate on story arcs. The series is published by Dark Horse Comics and previously by Image Comics.
It stars the rugged alcoholic Texas spaceman Heath Huston, the supposed last Fear Agent, in a series of fast-paced adventures. The series is notable for its emphasis on action, adventure, horror, and plot twists rather than realism or scientific detail; Remender claims in the first issue that "science fiction has lost its stones" and that Fear Agent is his attempt to fight that trend. Many incidents in the early issues are unexplained until many issues later to reinforce this. - Wiki.
What the Deuce?! Fear Agent The Movie!!!!

What the Deuce?! Possibly my favourite comic book of all time Fear Agent is being made into a movie. According to Empire Online Universal have signed a deal with Dark Horse Comics to produce a movie based on the many adventures of Heath Huston everyones favourite Space-Drunk.
I try not to get too fanboy over most geek movies but this is different, I love this comic and the creative team behind it; Rick Remender, Jerome Opena and Tony Moore are arguably some of the best and exciting talent working in the industry today. I will no doubt be watching over the production of this flick very closely so expect to see alot more on this as soon as it becomes available.
So let the speculation begin, who should play Heath Huston? Empire suggest Ben Affleck, not a bad choice he certainly looks like Heath and he's got the action chops. Not really seen him in anything I've liked recently although he was the bomb in Phantoms. As long as he can do the Texas drawl I'm happy, maybe Luke Wilson would be good it has to be someone charasmatic and can play a mean drunk whilst looking good in orange. Sam Elliot for Heath's pops, it's a small role but pivotal he was made for the part.
Please Universal don't fuck this up, pick a great director who will stay as true to the books as possible and you'll have a winner on your hands I know it.
