The Dark Angel Saga starts Uncanny X-Force #10
Link: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=31280

The book I've been having my most recent love affair with is Uncanny X-Force, I've always been a fan of Rick Remender's writing and now that he's adding his crazy but stylish touches to the X-Men universe, I couldn't be happier.
What does this picture represent? I do not know, will it be awesome, most likely. In Uncanny X-Force and it's adjectiveless predecessor, they've been skirting around the issue of Archangel's double personna and his possible slip into darkness for some time now, clearly The Dark Angel Saga will address this, role on number ten.

We all need to thank Jason Aaron, not just for the awesomeness that is Scalped but also for drawing my attention to this outstanding video from director Gary Shore.
National Lampoons Comic Book Vacation

With the launch of Batman Inc, it has reminded me of one of my all time biggest comic book gripes. One of the things that has always bugged me about ongoing superhero comic books (especially the big two) is their need to shake things up every now and then with some kind of world/european tour. You can look it in two ways:
1) It's an interesting way to take a character out of their usual environment, mix things up and show some lip service to fans around the world.
or the way I usually look at it:
2) When you run out of ideas for a character, send them on holiday so they can meet generic stereotypical foreigners and return after a year having achieved nothing and with the status quo resumed.
Dandridge returns to 2000AD...Today!

Today sees the debut of the ongoing Dandridge strip in 2000 AD by Alec Worley and Warren Pleece. For those of you that don't know, Dr Spartacus Dandridge is a splednididly delightful ghost hunter with penchant for laudanum and victorian sensibilities, not unlike some comic book creators I could name (but I won't). To celebrate his return to the 2000 AD (prog 1710) the doctor has taken over Alec's blog in what I feel was a bit of a hostile takeover, check it out here.
Uncanny X-Force #2 - PREVIEW

Came home drunk from the pub last week and so eager was I to get into Uncanny X-Force #1 I intoxicato-read it and loved it. Still haven't gone back sober just in case it's not as good as I remember, may try to do the whole series drunk, it's the future I tells ya!
Anyway, enough of my drunken antics check out this preview of Uncanny X-Force #2:

Uncanny X-Force Trailer
Previously on X-Force...
So there it is, Uncanny X-Force. Love the creative team (FEAR Agent veterans), not so sure about the actual team. Marvel, do we really need another book with Deadpool in it? I used to love the guy but he's been completely over-exposed and now just pisses me off. Of course I'm being ridiculous, they say there are no bad characters, only bad writers and Rick Remender is a very, very good writer, in his hands I'm hoping I learn to love the Merc with a Mouth once again. No matter what happens, there is one thing I am sure about, it's going to look fantastic, just the few snippets of Jerome Opena's stunning art in the trailer have convinced me of that.
Crossed: Family Values review. Just how far can you go?

It’s difficult to say you enjoyed Garth Ennis’ Crossed series for Avatar Press, the book was a masterpiece in exposing the extremities of the human condition but the experiences Ennis chose to subject the reader to leave a bitter and possibly rat infested taste in the mouth. Crossed is a survival story in the zombie vein but has more in common with George Romero’s other recently adapted property; The Crazies. The world has been ravaged by a disease which causes the infected to act out the most base and horrific acts of violence and depravity upon their families, themselves and unfortunate enough to wander by. There aren’t many comic books where someone will get raped by a gimp whilst being repeatedly beaten with a severed horse cock.
Life imitates Art: Charlie Adlard is a Zombie

One of the nicest guys in comics is now one of the nicest guys in Hollywood too. During his visit to Frank Darabont's The Walking Dead set, Charlie Adlard decided to don the makeup himself and rock out as zombie.

The Pro Animated

Y'all remember Garth Ennis' The Pro, drawn by Amanda Conners with Jimmy Palmiotti on inks yeah? If not, it's an amusing little book about a superheroine who's more likely to be turning tricks rather than turning in crooks. It sits proudly on my bookshelf snuggled inbetween all my other Ennis books but now you don't even need to it, you can watch it thanks to this animated short. Thanks Mr Palmiotti. The Video is for Adults only so to watch it please click on the image below or here.

New Red Theatrical Trailer
The book this film is based on is the next on my to-read-list as I continue to further my education in the comic book world and move away from the Marvel blinkers I've had on for most of my geeky life. Only problem is I can't find a copy of the trade anywhere for love nor money so I may just have to wait until the film comes out, looks bloody good and funny though. Oh and is that a possible future Judge Dredd I see there, I think it is.
