Arkham City: Two-Face & The Collector's Edition *Updated with Pictures*

by Gavin Jones Email

Arkham City; A tale of two faces

"I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?" - Clint Eastwood

That's what Harvey 'Two-Face' Dent appears to be saying to us in this new promo shot from the sequel to Rocksteady's 2009 (was it really that long ago?) smash hit Arkham Asylum; Arkaham City.

Behind the Masks Part 1 - Batman

by PJ Montgomery Email

Superman, as we all know, first appeared in Action Comics #1 in the year 1938. The first true superhero, Supes paved the way for a veritable army of comic book superheroes in the decades which followed. Quite naturally, it wasn’t long until the screen beckoned, and ever since 1941, when Superman again led the way in the classic Fleischer Studios cartoon series, superheroes have been a common feature on TV and cinema screens everywhere.

Over the years, most of the more popular heroes have appeared in one form or another, played by a huge amount of actors who, it must be said, are all brave for taking on such iconic roles. Some have done better than others, but who are the definitive actors who have played the characters we all know and love? That’s what I aim to look at in this series of columns. Each week, I’ll take a different, well loved character from comics and have a look at five of the actors who have played them, ranking them in order of my own personal preference. I’m also throwing it open to everyone else to tell me who their favourite is before I begin on my Twitter account.

For this week, let us begin with the greatest comic book character of all time, Batman! When I asked on Twitter who everyone’s favourite Batman was, Adam West just beat Christian Bale by a single vote, but does he top my list?

I tried to pick my five favourite actors to ever take on the part of the Caped Crusader, but I couldn’t pick between the last two. So you’re getting six. Let’s go!

And now the Bat Family DC Relaunch

by Gavin Jones Email

Link: http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/

It's been exciting times with all this DC relaunch news, exciting but exhausting, being on this side of the pond makes it difficult to keep up but here is a collection of all the covers for the relauched Bat Family books with a little bit of comment by me when I think it's needed.

Detective Comics #1 - Tony Daniel

Writing and drawing from Tony Daniel again, he's done it well before just after Batman: RIP, tough job but if anyone can do it, he can. Shame Detective is going back to #1 but I'm certainly not as cut up about it as some fanboys, it just a number dudes.

This year I have been mostly playing... Part 2

by @Neon_Lynx Email

Hola and welcome to part 2 of my epic recount of my gaming year that was 2010. If you missed part 1 then point your broswer here and fulfil that completionist need that drives us all. I had hoped to have this review of the year done in 2 parts but I played far too many different games to make that possible so gird your loins for the difficult second blog of the trilogy! Let's hope it's more Empire Strikes Back than Too Fast Too Furious...

But, without further ado, let's dive back in to the heady time I like to call 2010.

Batman Arkham City

Each time I think about Batman Arkham City, I always end up feeling glum because it's not out until Autumn 2011... But before that glum feeling sets in I have the euphoria of excitement that always washes over me following the reveal of details for this game.

The latest on the grapevine comes from interviews in Official Playstation Magazine UK and PSM3 magazine where Sefton Hill, co-founder of Rocksteady, has been shooting his mouth off...

Batman Arkham City

Autumn 2011 is miles away. And it feels even further away after you've seen the screenshots that follow, allegedly from Rocksteady's super-sequel, Batman: Arkham City.

Interweb sources are claiming that the pics have come from this Flickr account. However, link through to that accounts and all you get now is the picture that we kicked off with above... The game is afoot!

Anyways, source aside, feast your eyes on the 20 glorious shots when you click through to read more.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - The Origin of an Origin... and a Gameplay vid!!

by @Neon_Lynx Email

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

In the recent 3 To Watch... post, I mentioned the upcoming Deus Ex prequel, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. No sooner had I posted the teaser trailer to these hallowed pages, than a gameplay trailer burst onto the interweb ahead of Gamescom, which starts on 22nd August.

Having calmed down after seeing it, I began to wonder about the origins of the series and so did some digging. Click through to share what I found. But first, that first gameplay trailer...

Pretty, Pretty, Arkham Asylum toys

by Gavin Jones Email

Batman Arkham Asylum figures

We don't normally do toys on this site, no reason it's just not our thing but thought y'all would be interested in these toys based on the character designs from the game Arkham Asylum. In this first wave you'll be getting Batman, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, and Scarface but you'll have to wait until at least early next year to get your grubby mits on them. I knowm it's almost criminal but I still haven't found the time to play the game so was shocked to see the Scarecrow redesign, quite like it though. The Harley Quinn redesign which I originally hated has actually grown on me over time but I still prefer classic non-sexed up Harley.
