Fear Itself: Uncanny X-Force #1: First Look

Fear Itself descends upon Wolverine's X-Force in a most Uncanny way, it's Uncanny X-Force vs a group of murderous zealots...so what else is new?! Well, this limited series is brought to you by Sidekick favourite, Rob Williams, he's Welsh and he did our live Secrets and Lies, of course he's our favourite, and on art, Simone Bianchi, who Sidekickcast co-host Dan has been quite rude about in the past but I like his style. Not just that but I think you'll recognise the guy X-Force have got strapped down and look like they'r about to torture, abrother in arms! Any excuse to see a little more of this dynamic and quite frankly kick-ass team, and I'm sold, so bring it on, I can't wait for 6th July and neither should you! Carry onto the next page for the rest of the preview and don't forget, keep 'em peeled Sidekicks.
Back in Black: The Dark Angel Saga Preview

Hey Sidekicks, long time no see. I trust you're all well and enjoyed the outstanding job @Neon_Lynx did editing the blog whilst I was getting a True Brit tan in sunny Spain? I'd like to extend my eternal thanks to him and the rest of the Sidekicks for a sterling effort in keeping the good ship Sidekick firmly on course whilst I indulged myself in the finer things in life.
Now I'm back and it's straight down to business with a preview for Uncanny X-Force #11 which begins The Dark Angel Saga, a story we here at Sidekick Central are very much looking forward to especially as it heralds the return to the Age of Apocalypse.

The book I've been having my most recent love affair with is Uncanny X-Force, I've always been a fan of Rick Remender's writing and now that he's adding his crazy but stylish touches to the X-Men universe, I couldn't be happier.
What does this picture represent? I do not know, will it be awesome, most likely. In Uncanny X-Force and it's adjectiveless predecessor, they've been skirting around the issue of Archangel's double personna and his possible slip into darkness for some time now, clearly The Dark Angel Saga will address this, role on number ten.
Uncanny X-Force: 'The Apocalypse Solution' Review

When he's not writing dark and depraved comic books, torturing puppy dogs for fun or working on the arsom ECBT2000AD, Rich McAuliffe likes to taunt us with reviews of books he would usually hate:
Last time they were right.
I'd listened to the Sidekick guys spout off about how cool Daredevil was.. well up until Shadowlands anyway, so I thought I'd test it and pick up the monster omnibus of Bendis' Daredevil run. And like I said, they were bang on the money. Totally loved it.
Uncanny X-Force #2 - PREVIEW

Came home drunk from the pub last week and so eager was I to get into Uncanny X-Force #1 I intoxicato-read it and loved it. Still haven't gone back sober just in case it's not as good as I remember, may try to do the whole series drunk, it's the future I tells ya!
Anyway, enough of my drunken antics check out this preview of Uncanny X-Force #2:

The Fall of an Angel - X-Centric Crib Sheet #3

The Fall of An Angel
Intro
X-Force 1-6, Angels and Demons (now a trade paperback) featured the much-publicised return of the Archangel.
The fact that it was much publicised throws up a big question for the neophyte X-fan – Why is the return of Archangel so important?
We’ll consider:
Who is Archangel?
What does he represent about the X-Men themselves?
You may wish to consider:
What does the return mean for the character of Angel?
What does it mean for the future direction of X-Force, the comic that featured his return?

What the Purifiers did next...
At the end of God Loves, Man Kills, Styrker was arrested, having survived being shot by police.
Following this he escaped from prison and intended, again, to commit suicide.
During his planning, he discovered the Nimrod Sentinel.
Nimrod appeared in Days of Future Past as the most advanced Sentinel of that time.
Sentinels are mutant-hunting giant robots.
When Rachel Summers (Scott and Jean’s daughter from an alternate time-line) travelled from the future, he hunted her to present-day New York and was befriended by a construction worker, Jaime Rodriguez, who obviously didn’t fully appreciate who or what Nimrod was.
Nimrod remained in cover, gathering information and altered his prime directive, to destroy all mutants, choosing instead to only hunt mutant outlaws.
He discovers a piece of the Master Mold.
