I'm sure I've blogged about this event before but a quick trip through the archives shows nothing, so here we go again for the very first time. Comics and Conflicts is a comprehensive look at the role of comic books in war and war stories starting on Friday 19th August and running through to Saturday 20th August at the Imperial War Museum London.
CICAE 2012 Update: Guest of Honour Announced

This year's comic con season is far from over over yet but already we're getting ready for next year. The most important con on next year's calendar is obviously the now two day Cardiff Comic and Animation Expo (that's right CICE becomes CICAE with the addition of animation to the line up) held on 25 - 26th February 2012 at the Cardiff Mercure Hotel. Why is it such an important convention? Well because it's ourhometown con of course.
They've just announced next year's Guest of Honour and we can reveal it's the legendary...
_ _ _ _ _ Reborn! WTF?!
Okay, it's time for the crappest game of Hangman in the history of crappy Hangman. Today Marvel released the above image with the below text:

Birmingham Comic Con 2011: Guests Announced: Mark Millar, Dave Gibbons and More
Link: http://www.thecomicsshow.co.uk
I was gutted not to see Birmingham International Comic Show (BICS) on the con calendar this year, it was the second con I ever went to and anyone that saw my pre-Bristol Expo post, will know that I get ridiculously sentimental about this kind of deal. We knew that the convention was going to be replaced by a smaller more intimate creator driven event but until now we didn't know who was going to be there. This press release should clear that all up with some impressive and surprising creators already attached:
Birmingham Comic Con Goes Prehistoric for 2011 27th August
Watch out for sexy cave girls and cave boys in Birmingham City Centre this summer as the Holiday Inn on Queensway plays host to some of the biggest names in comics including Mark Millar (Kick Ass, Wanted), Chris Sprouse, (Tom Strong) Dave Gibbons, (Watchmen) Sean Phillips (Criminal, Incognito) and the legendary Alan Davis, who’s list of creative credits rivals the length of a brontosaurus!
The Sidekickcast in 'Do Sidekicks Dream of Telepathic Mutants?' Part II Bristol Comic Expo 2011
It's the third part of the Bristol Comic Expo 2011 Sidekickcast trilogy but will it be more The Mummy Returns than Empire Strikes Back, more Rush Hour 2 than Terminator 2? You decide, and if you do like the comic let @danlesidekick know so he'll make some more for us.

The Sidekickcast Comic will return tomorrow for the third and final installment, keep 'em peeled Sidekicks.
