Snootch to the Nootch bitches!

Would you like to be in AMC's (The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Mad Men) reality TV show based around Kevin Smith's comic book shop Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash? If the answer is yes and you live anywhere near Redbank, New Jersey here is your chance. All you need to do is go here, fill out an application, upload a photo and a youtube video and you're on your way to geek heaven. The show seems to be based around the staff and the customers who visit the store to buy and sell geeky collectibles, kind of like Cash in the Attic/Antiques Roadshow for fanboys. No doubt much of the hilarity will come from the staff in the store which includes sometimes Batman artist, co-host of Tell 'Em Steve-Dave and lifelong friend of Smith, Walt Flanagan.

Follow up:

Kevin Smith, he seems to polarize opinion, you either love him or you hate him. Well, I love the guy, without him there would be no Sidekickcast, fact. The first podcast I ever listened to was Smodcast as hosted by Smith and his producer, Scott Mosier. The show has now ballooned into it's very own empire with a network of podcasts, live shows and it's own channel on Stitcher Internet Radio. I still listen today and it was the direct inspiration for me and Dan Marshall setting up this very site and the podcast it houses. In fact I'm going to go and see Smith's latest feature, Red State this week, itself another pioneer in film production and marketing. Smith decided to circumvent the studio system, seeking independent financial backing for the flick as well as distributing the movie with a live tour rather than going through the usual launch and PR process.

Whatever you want to say about Mr Smith, it cannot be denied that he is a trailblazer, a filthy, potty-mouthed, tubby, bearded trailblazer...and I love him for it.
