New Batman: Year One Clip

Batman: Year One

The DC animation wagon of quality just keeps on trucking with the latest offering Batman: Year One, adapted from Frank Miller's seminal comic of the same name. Not long to wait now as it'll be released in the US 18th October.

Continue past the jump for the clip...

Follow up:

Hmmm...usually DC and more specifically producer, Bruce Timm and casting director, Andrea Romano get their choices spot on but I'm not too sure about their choice of Batman's voice here. Sure, this should be a younger Batman, so Ben McKenzie (Ryan Atwood in The O.C.) seems like a reasonable choice but it doesn't quite work and he seems to over-pronounce his words. At least he isn't barking his sentences though, eh?

Anyone that's read the original comics will know that this story should actually belong to Detective Jim Gordon and with the excellent Bryan Cranston (Walter White in Breaking Bad) voicing the hard boiled Gotham cop it's not a complete loss.

For anyone that missed it the first time around here's the teaser trailer for the dvd feature:

I think it looks fantastic and can’t wait to see it, it is a tad weird hearing Bats with a young softer voice but I can live with it I suppose, given the context.

I do think both DC and Marvel are creating some fantastic animation in both Cartoons and Movies lately from this to Planet Hulk and from Brave and the Bold to Avengers earth’s mightiest heroes.

I may be 33 but I loves me a cartoon ;-)
