Fallen Heroes #1 Review
Link: http://fallenheroescomicdotcom.wordpress.com/

The very first time I met Barry Nugent in person was at Bristol Comic Con two or three years ago (my memory is not what it used to be!), I'd been listening to his podcast Geek Syndicate for a while and I had recently launched The Sidekickcast. We got on really well and as I'd heard that he'd written a book I asked him if he could bring me a copy, that book was Fallen Heroes. I brought my signed copy home and it went straight onto my bedside cabinet ready to be read and to this very day I'm ashamed to say that is where it has stayed. I want to read it, I look at it longingly all the time but since we started the podcast it has been impossible for me to find the time to read anything that isnt a comic and 'for' the podcast. I tell you all this so you can imagine how elated I was to hear that Fallen Heroes was being adapted into a comic book, finally I could read the story with the added bonus of pictures, always good for me.

Ever wanted to own a sketch from a grade A comic book artist? I have and do own a fair few pieces but never one from Skottie Young or Scott Morse but that may be about to change.
10thology *Exclusive* First Review

The plan was to meet on the first floor of the store, a very public and unsuspecting locale for this kind of clandestine exchange. Dan spotted the contact first, I brought him along as back up, when you're dealing with these people, you never know when things are gonna turn sour. I made the first move, throwing out my hand like a shaky anchor. As our hands locked into a grasp I could feel something else jabbing it's way into my palm. As simple as that, I was in possession of a book I could've been waiting for my whole life.
This is how 10thology came into my possession, I'm hoping my overly dramatic introduction may be enough of an audition to get me a place in the next volume of the book. I say next volume, I don't know if there will be another volume but I sure hope there will be. A simple but effective concept, ten stories, all ten pages long by eighteen Welsh creators, both legends and newcomers alike.

When publishers put out press releases that are just images with no words, there will always be questions and questions can be dangerous things in the wrong hands, like:

Welcome to a new series of posts that will showcase sketches I have blackmailed convinced artists to do for me (and you...but mostly me) on my ipad whilst we sit around sharing a beer or two. The choice of sketch is the artists own and all have and will be done on the Art Studio for ipad app. Today's sketch is obviously Batman as drawn by Stuart Tipples.
Something Silly for Sunday #89 The Dark Knight Rises Fan Posters

Now that we know that Anne Hathaway will be Catwoman and Tom Hardy will be the backbreaker, Bane in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises it seems to have inspired the fan made poster community to jump into action. Check out this series of posters all done by fans and 100% unofficial but oh so good and please click on the images to visit the sites I originally 'borrowed them from.

We all need to thank Jason Aaron, not just for the awesomeness that is Scalped but also for drawing my attention to this outstanding video from director Gary Shore.
