That Friday Feeling: Insider Jessica Alba! Last Days of American Crime!

Bit of a different Friday feeling today as of course it's been Thanksgiving in the States so very little comic book news about. On a personal note I'm looking forward to the 10 girls in my work that are dressing in Original series Star Fleet Uniforms for tonight's Christmas party, expect many photos of me pimping with my hareem of Star Trek lovelies.

No stranger to comic book adaptations with Fantastic Four and Sin City under her slinky belt, Jessica Alba is set to star in the movie adaptation of The Insiders according to Latino Review. I don't know a lot about this book as it's Belgian and my European comic book knowledge sucks but is set to improve (more on that in future blogs). From what I can gather Alba will be playing a James Bondesque Colombian spy working for the U.S. infiltrating a crime syndicate and bringing them down form the inside. The title suggests however there may be more than one insider in this story, you heard it here first, or maybe I'm just reading too much into it? This film will see her reconnect with Sin City director Robert Rodriguez who will be acting as producer with JCVD director Mabrouk el Mechri attached to direct.

We all know how much of a big fan of Rick Remender I am so how this passed me by I'll never know but according to < a href="http://www.mania.com/worthington-signs-for-american-crime_article_119023.html">Mania this year's hot action star Sam Worthington (Terminator: Salvation, Avatar) is staying true to his genre film hot streak by taking a lead role in The Last Days of American Crime. The book was written by Rick Remender with art by Greg Tocchini for Radical Publishing, set in a not so distant future it deals with the events of one last heist before America turns off the criminal urge in all it's citizens. Worthington will play Kevin Cash; a safecracker enlisted at the last minute to 'save the day' if there is a such a thing in heist movie, I'm guessing the criminals are always the heroes yeah? We want them to get away with it, we're odd people. The best news though is that the man himself, Rick Remender is writing the screenplay so you know it'll be good.
So I'm off for the weekend but don't worry I won't forget those photos! a> a> a>
