Thomas Wogan Is Dead Review

by Neil Cocklin Email

Thomas Wogan Is Dead was written and illustrated by Dave Hughes who self published this title as well. Thomas Wogan is a sad lonely character with a fetish for Delia Smith, who finds himself in a strange waiting room with a number of unlikely companions. As they begin to share their last memories, the events that brought them to where they are, all end in an increasingly familiar way.

This is a excellently told short story that has a very odd and unnerving atmosphere. The perfect blend of sad characters and simple but extremely effective art work give the story a very emotive appeal that I seldom find in comics. Not to say it doesn't exist but its something I have not really come across myself in my limited experience.

I really enjoyed this book and would heartily recommend it. Its £5.99 so its not going to break the bank, which you will never be thinking about anyway because its worth every penny.
